- Michael Beaudoin – Distance Edu Leadership, Online Learner Competencies
- Curtis Bonk – Focuses on the intersection of business, education, psychology, and technology. The founder of TEC-VARIETY.
- Steve Brookfield- Engaging Imagination, Critical Thinking, Adult Edu, born 1949
- John Dirkx- Adult learning and collaborative learning
- Daniel Janik – Physician and advocate for TL and researched a neurobiological approach. The neurobiology of learning.
- John Keller- ARCS Model (attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction)
- Malcolm Knowles – Adopted the word “andragogy”, helped develop Humanist Learning Theory, use of learning constructs.
- David Kolb – Experiential Learning Theory and Model, born 1939
- Jack Mezirow – Transformative Learning Theory
- Edward Taylor – Transformative Learning and professor of adult education at PSU
